  • Pre cancerous: scaly patches or spots 
  • Common in  fair skinned people  and  40 +
  • Caused by excessive sun exposure
  • Most common on head, neck, hands, and forearms.
  • AK can progress to a dangerous  skin cancer, scams cell carcinoma (SCC).

Basal cell carcinoma (BCC)     Stage 1
  •  Whitish bumps or a pinkish patches of skin. Can be sensitive, itchy or burning sensation.
  • Most common cause is excessive sun exposure or indoor tanning.
  • Usually found on head, neck, and arms, but can appear elsewhere.
  • Early treatment important, like any cancer , it can become aggressive, grow quickly  and be deadly.
  • Most common skin cancer identified.

Squamous cell carcinoma (SCC)  Stage 2 
 
 
 
 
 
 

  • Red firm bump, scaly patch, or a sore that heals and then re-opens.
  • SCC tend to form on skin that gets frequent sun exposure, such as the rim of the ear, face, neck, arms, chest, and back. SCC can grow deep in the skin and cause damage and disfigurement. Early diagnosis and treatment can prevent this and stop SCC from spreading to other areas of the body.

Melanoma                        Stage 3-4            
  • Melanoma frequently develops in a mole
  • It can begin scaly dry spots which change to red sensitive spots and progress to dark spot or begin as the dark spot.
  • When darkest, it's Stage 4 and growing beneath the skin
  • Early diagnosis and treatment are crucial, it's an aggressive, deadly skin cancer.
